Comparison of responses of C57BL/6J mice (open symbols, thin lines) and B6.129S6-Il6^tm1Kopf (IL-6 KO) mice (closed symbols, thick lines) to intraperitoneal administration of 5-HTP at dark onset. Values for core body temperature (Tcore), wakefulness, non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep are expressed as differences from vehicle control (depicted by the zero line) and are means ± SEM for 10-min (Tcore) or hourly (wakefulness, NREM, REM) intervals. Sample sizes are as indicated in Figure 1 and Figure 2 for C57BL/6J and IL-6 KO mice, respectively. The black bars on the x-axes denote the dark period of the light:dark cycle.
