The insets show representative traces obtained from mock-transfected cells or cells transfected with Shaker or Kv4.2 alone in 20-mV depolarizing steps from −40 to +100 mV. The P values obtained with (M)ANOVA when comparing the I–V curves in the absence and presence of Kvβ1.2 were 0.006 (endogenous currents), 0.084 (Shaker currents), and 0.204 (Kv4.2 currents).
