A, single channel currents were recorded by cell-attached patch clamp in 1-day-old Xenopus myocytes. The myocyte was hyperpolarized +60 mV from rest. Note that the open probability caused by ACh release from the myocyte was enhanced by anticholinesterase agents. B, the continuous trace depicts the spontaneous synaptic currents recorded from an innervated muscle cell (holding potential, -60 mV, filtered at 150 Hz).
