MIP-1α and IFN-γ levels are reduced in the TG of anti-CXCL10 Ab-treated, HSV-1-infected mice. Mice (n = 5/group) were infected with HSV-1 (300 PFU/eye) and inoculated with 100 μg of anti-CXCL10 IgG or control IgG at time zero and 2 and 5 days p.i. At day 5 (A) or 7 (B) p.i., the mice were euthanized and the corneal buttons and iris from each eye were removed and homogenized. The clarified supernatant from each sample (n = 10/group [day 5 p.i.] or n = 4/group [day 7 p.i.]) was then assayed for chemokine and IFN-γ content by ELISA. *, P < 0.05 for comparison of the anti-CXCL10-treated group to the corresponding control-treated group, as determined by ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc t test.
