Guanosine treatment did not affect apoptosis in the cords with chronic, stable spinal cord injury. For detection of apoptotic cells, a terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase (TdT)-mediated dUTP nick end labelling (TUNEL) stain was performed using the ‘In situ Cell Death Detection Kit, Fluorescein’.
