Additives. The range of additives used for the successful crystallization of the MP families is shown. The different additives have been grouped into more general classes: multivalent salts, monovalent salts, linkers (glycyl-glycyl-glycine), lipids, amphiphiles (1,2,3-heptanetriol, benzamidine hydrochloride), reducing agents, chelating agents, carbohydrates, polyalcohols (glycerol, ethylene glycol), detergents, nonvolatile organic molecules (1,6-hexanediol, MPD, PEG 400), and volatile organic molecules (ethanol, tert-butanol, 1,3-propanediol, isopropanol).
