Effects of PPAR-$\gamma$ ligands in induction of apoptosis on human PC cell line. PC cell line (PC3) treated with PPAR-$\gamma$ ligands ((b); 20 $\mu$M Troglitazone, (c); 20 $\mu$M 15-d-PGJ₂) showed significant chromatin condensation, cellular shrinkage, small membrane-bound bodies (apoptotic bodies), and cytoplasmic condensation. These cellular changes were typically redundant characteristics of apoptosis. PC cells without PPAR-$\gamma$ ligands maintained normal chromatin patterns and cell size (a).
