Detection of Mpl in the cell wall and protoplast fractions of broth-grown bacteria. Bacteria were grown in LB-MOPS-G1P or LB-MOPS-glucose (DP-L1075). Bacterial lysates, cell walls, and protoplasts were prepared as described in Materials and Methods. Equivalent amounts of culture OD units were loaded per lane. Proteins were detected by Western immunoblotting. The various polypeptides migrated as indicated on the figure.
