Growth and ammonia production of NZ131 and NZ131 rgg::ermAB cultured with THY media supplemented with amino acids. Strains were cultured with THY (•) or THY supplemented with arginine (○), serine (▿), glutamic acid (□), or histidine (⋄). At regular intervals, aliquots were removed and the A600 (A and B) and the concentrations of ammonia (C and D) in sterile filtrates were determined.
