P(Λ_D) is the probability that the Λ_D sequence-distant native contacts are formed during a search process described by the energy function E₀ (see Equation 1). Two amino acid residues i and j are assumed to contact each other if r_ij < rⁿ_ij +3.0 Å. For comparison, we have included the corresponding values from the Makarov-Plaxco P(Λ_D)= γa^Λ_D formula with a =0.86 and γ = 4610⁻⁵.
