P(ΛD) is the probability that the ΛD sequence-distant native contacts are formed during a search process described by the energy function E0 (see Equation 1). Two amino acid residues i and j are assumed to contact each other if rij < rnij +3.0 Å. For comparison, we have included the corresponding values from the Makarov-Plaxco P(ΛD)= γaΛD formula with a =0.86 and γ = 4610−5.
