Figure 1

Elution profile on a Superdex 75 column of 20-mg oligosaccharides generated from type II GBS polysaccharide after 22 h of ozonolysis. Fractions 1–4 correspond to one to four repeating units, with average molecular sizes of 1.3, 2.7, 4.3, and 5.7 kDa, respectively. The molecular sizes were determined from oligosaccharide standards obtained by glycosidase digestion of type III GBS polysaccharide.
