TABLE 3.
Substrate | Product retention time (min) | Product m/z | Product concn (μM)b |
---|---|---|---|
Fluorene | 15.5 | 280 | 98 |
Phenanthrene | 15.9 | 278 | 96 |
Anthracene | 14.6 | 278 | 9 |
16.6 | 278 | 27 | |
Naphthalene | 12.1 | 228 | 2 |
Dibenzofuran | 13.5 | 418 | 10 |
Dibenzo-p-dioxin | 14.1 | 434 | 10 |
Characteristics of the NBB derivatives, except for dibenzofuran and dibenzo-p-dioxin, which were analyzed as the trimethylsilyl derivatives, are shown. Anthracene yielded two isomers, one of which was identified as anthracene 1,2-dihydrodiol (retention time, 16.6 min).
Concentrations in the bacterial suspension were calculated after 23 h of incubation at 25°C. Values are means of results from duplicate experiments. The standard error was less than 10%.
