Mitochondrial fusion still occurs in rpn11-m1 mutant. Wild-type cells (A–D) and rpn11-m1 (E–H) cells of opposite mating type were labeled with the mtGFP or mtRFP and mated at 28°C. Deconvolution microscopy was used to score the distribution of mtGFP and RFP. Fusion and mixing of mitochondrial content was evaluated in merged mtGFP and mtRFP (D and H).
