Effect of partial bilateral lesions of the ventromedial hypothalamic nuclei (PBVMHx), complete bilateral lesions of the ventromedial hypothalamic nuclei (CBVMHx), bilateral lesions centered at the border of the medial preoptic area and the anterior hypothalamus (BPOA/AHx) or a sham operation (Sham) on investigation by ovo-hysterectomized, estradiol-benzoate-treated female ferrets of a sequence of urinary odorants (water; male and female urine) presented in home cage habituation/dishabituation tests (more details in the Methods section).
