Human CUL1 can interact with the yeast SCF components ySKP1 and CDC4. Hi5 insect cells were infected with baculovirus constructs expressing various proteins as indicated. Cells were labeled with Tran[³⁵S]-label for 3 hr before harvesting. Yeast SKP1^HA (A) and ^PHACDC4 (B) together with associated proteins were immunoprecipitated by anti-HA and anti-Polyoma beads, respectively. The composition of the protein complexes in the immunoprecipitates was analyzed by SDS/PAGE followed by autoradiography. The asterisk marks an unidentified contaminant that migrates reproducibly faster than the authentic hCUL1.
