Dimensions of the channels giving access to the phosphorylation site in the E1-CaAMPPCP form (PDB code: 1T5S) of the Ca-ATPase. Dependence of the channel radius, R, on the step distance from the phosphorylation site is determined using the Caver program (31). Circular symbols define the extent of the major water-filled cavity identified by the PASS program (see Fig. 5 A). The inset shows the surface of the channel for each pathway.
