The open (a) and closed (b) time interval histograms could be fitted by one exponential function when the bath solution contained either 100 (A) or 20 mM (B) [Cl⁻]_c. The mean open time increased as [Cl⁻]_c decreased with little change in the closed time. This patch contained only one channel. These histograms were generated from 10 and 28 min records at 100 and 20 mM [Cl⁻]_c, respectively. Inside-out patches were made approximately 30 min after application of terbutaline (10 μM). Results in Aa are shown on an expanded time scale in the inset.
