Ventricular myocytes plated on coverslips were incubated for 15 min with 1 μM TMAP-DPH at 37 °C. Cardiac myocytes were then transferred to a glass cuvette containing 20 μM fatty acids and the steady-state fluorescence anisotropy of TMAP-DPH was measured (as described in Methods). Data are presented as means ±s.e.m.**P < 0.01 compared with control.
