In C, current traces for individual cells have been normalized to the peak of the inward current and averaged. The resultant averaged, normalized current traces for capsaicin-sensitive and capsaicin-insensitive cells are superimposed. In D the averaged, normalized data are compared at 10 ms intervals by two-tailed, unpaired t tests and the probability that the data are different is plotted on a log₁₀ scale.
