A, application of 17β-oestradiol (10⁻⁷ M, 16 min) did not modify the resting membrane potential in LD-5 neurones. Ba, under control conditions, kainate application (10 μM, 30 s, filled bar) induced a slight depolarisation in a LD-5 OT neurone (the dotted line indicates the resting membrane potential). After 17β-oestradiol treatment (10⁻⁷ M, 13 min), no potentiation of the kainate-induced response was observed.
