Data were obtained as described in the legend to Fig. 1 and are means of seven experiments. The lines shown are fits of the data to the GHK current equation, which gave P_K values of 1.04 × 10⁻⁶ and 0.96 × 10⁻⁶ cm s⁻¹ in Na⁺- and K⁺-rich hypotonic solutions, respectively. The average capacitance of the cells in these experiments was 15.5 pF.
