Whole-cell ‘on’ bipolar cell recording equilibrated with 10 μm AIP and 50 μm Ca²⁺ in the patch pipette solution. The flash intensities ranged from 0.125 to 16 Rh** with a 1 Rh** test flash applied before and during the 0.5 Rh** s⁻¹ background. The dark holding potential was −38 mV. There was an inward shift in dark current of −26 pA.
