Cleavage of putative substrate phage and non-substrate phage by KLK6 by Western blotting with anti-Flag and anti-pIII. Purified phage was incubated with 0, 0.1, or 1 μM of KLK6 in 50 mM Tris-HCl, 150 mM NaCl containing 1 mM EDTA (pH 7.5) at 37°C for 45 min, and analyzed by Western blotting. Phage containing the TAFRSAYG octapeptide is a substrate for KLK6 whereas, phage containing the SSYISNFG sequence is not.
