Comparison of the C-terminal part of the deduced amino acid sequence of the Sss protein of P. fluorescens WCS365 (boldface type) with that of other site-specific recombinases. Amino acids found in more than four sequences are marked by an asterix. The conserved tyrosine residue is boxed. The protein is compared with FimB and FimE (37, 39) of E. coli, Sss of P. aeruginosa 7NSK2 (SssPa) (13), and XerC (14) and XerD (38) of E. coli.
