Polarised distribution of epithelial CXCL11 in vitro. Primary human lung epithelial cells were grown to confluence on a filter and left unstimulated or stimulated with IFN-γ and/or TNF-α. Samples of medium from either side of the monolayer (apical/luminal and basal/interstitial) were assayed by ELISA for CXCL11. The results show the combined results from three experiments performed in duplicate, and are expressed as mean ± SEM.
