Imatinib (IM) inhibits T cell proliferation. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were stimulated for 3 days with either plate-bound anti-CD3/anti-CD28 or with phorbol myristate acetate/ionomycin. Cells were cultured in the presence or absence of IM (10 μM) T cell proliferation was assessed by [³H]-thymidine In all experiments and for all conditions six wells of a 96-well plate were used. The results of a representative experiment (n = 5) is depicted and data are expressed as mean [³H]-thymidine incorporation ± standard deviation.
