A, lung wet weight changes on instillation of 5 ml of albumin (5 g (100 ml)−1)-Krebs solution (first arrow) and retained volume (≈1 ml) after draining excess instillate. On re-instillation (second arrow) and draining of remaining ≈4 ml of instillate, an additional 0.4 ml of liquid was retained.
