Summary of Initial and Repetitive Yields for ESRG’03

Initial yield (IY) of MET2 is reported as background corrected (pmol yield cycle 2 minus pmol yield cycle I) pmol values. Facility #16 may have miscalculated Met yield determined by pmol yield of HIS I (3.1 pmol) and was not used in the average calculation.

Repetitive yield (RY) was calculated using background corrected pmol values (cycle minus previous cycle yield) only if the amino acids were positively or tentatively assigned. The formula used was as follows using MET2 and 20 as an example: (M20/M2) raised to the l/(n20—n2) power, where M20 and M2 represent the background corrected pmol values of Met at cycles 20 and 2. Repetitive yields for the 4 Leu and the 4 Ala were averaged. Facilities #32 and #46 provided only raw pmol data and therefore no RY calculation was made.
