Semi-quantitive evaluation of R7BP staining was done by visual inspecting serial coronal and sagittal sections probed with anti-R7BP antibodies, followed by anti-chicken-HRP conjugates and visualized by DAB staining. Two investigators independently scored the same immunohistochemical sections. Staining intensities relative to the highest level observed (Purkinje cell layer) are indicated as follows: very dense (equivalent to that in the Purkinje cell layer), ++++; dense, +++; moderately dense, ++; light (visible above background), +; not detectable (indistinguishable from nonspecific background), -.
