The unwinding activity of StoHjm is inhibited by StoHjc. (A) A 3′ overhang DNA (S3a) (Table 1) was used to test the effect of increasing concentrations of StoHjc on the unwinding activity of StoHjm (30 nM). The assay conditions were the same as those for Fig. 3. (B) Quantification of the results in panel A. Activity in the presence of StoHjc was divided by activity in the absence of StoHjc to determine the relative unwinding activity. The activity was expressed as the ratio of unwound substrate (labeled 34-mer ssDNA) to total substrate.
