Transcriptional activation of a heterologous promoter-linked N₆-GAS element in PV-treated COS-7 and L929 cells. Cells were transfected with a reporter construct encoding luciferase under control of a minimal thymidine kinase (tk) promoter linked to 3 copies of the N6-GAS element (45). Twenty-four hours after transfection, the cells were split into two plates and grown for 20–24 hr before treatment with 50 μM of PV. L929 cells and COS-7 cells were similarly treated for 2 hr and 4 hr, respectively.
