Number of granulocytes in peripheral blood of naive, cyclophosphamide-treated mice and irradiated mice whether or not treated with G-CSF before infection and at 4 and 24 hr after infection with S. aureus in these mice. Mice were treated with cyclophosphamide or irradiated, thereafter treated with G-CSF or vehicle for 4 days and subsequently infected with 5×106 bacteria in the thigh muscle.
