(b) Crystals grown in the presence of 5 mM GMPPNP show a similar bipyramidal shape (crystal form B, Table 1). (c) Bipyramidal crystals (labelled ‘2’) grown in the presence of 5 mM GMPPNP transform after 3–5 weeks into cuboids (labelled ‘1’; crystal form C, Table 1). The size of the crystals is typically about 30–70 µm.
