Wistar rats were injected i.v. (arrow) with LPS (10 μg kg−1) followed by i.v. infusion (bar along the abscissa axis) of CCK-8 sulphate (0.03 or 0.17 μg kg−1 min−1) or saline. The initial Tc was 38.3 ± 0.2 (saline), 38.1 ± 0.4 (smaller dose of CCK-8) and 38.1 ± 0.1 °C (larger dose of CCK-8).
