Muscle activation was assessed using EMG and the ITT during the steady-state isometric phase of the experimental test and the corresponding reference contractions. EMG was quantified using the RMS values for a 500 ms period during the steady-state, isometric phase. Muscle inhibition was assessed by measuring the interpolated twitch force (ITF) and normalizing it relative to the corresponding resting twitch force (RTF).
