A, a control recording from a smooth muscle cell during field stimulation (#). In this cell, NCTs arose at the location marked with an arrow with a probability of 0.06 per field stimulus. B, the same region in the presence of CPA (10 µm). Field stimuli still evoked NCTs with a similar probability (0.05 at this site), but the rate of the recovery of Ca2+ to its resting concentration is significantly slower.
