DCIS=ductal carcinoma in situ.
This included six cases of suspicious CNB results (retained only for descriptive analysis).
‘Atypical hyperplasias’ included atypical ductal hyperplasia and lobular intraepithelial neoplasia (lesions associated with increased future risk of breast cancer).
Number palpable=number of lesions from total (and for each type of mammographic lesion) considered to be evident on clinical examination.
