Enhancement of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-induced apoptosis. SW620 cells were exposed to 100 μM of 5-FU alone or combined with 250 μM d-Ino, either free or as a liposomal combination. Early and late apoptosis were discriminated by propidium iodide (PI)/Annexin V double staining with subsequent flow-cytometry analysis. Cells were treated for 24 h (A), 48 h (B) and 72 h (C).
