Moxifloxacin decreases proinflammatory cytokine secretion induced by VP-16 in THP-1 cells. Time-dependent studies: THP-1 cells were incubated for 24–72 h with increasing concentrations of VP-16 and 5 μg ml⁻¹ MXF as indicated. The concentrations of IL-8 (A) were measured by ELISA. Dose-dependent studies: THP-1 cells were incubated for 24 h with increasing concentrations of VP-16 and MXF. The concentrations of IL-1β (B) and TNF-α (C) in culture supernatant were measured by ELISA.
