The extent of haptaglobin staining in normal ovaries and in tumours was assessed in epithelium, stroma and ovarian cells and scored as 0 (<10%), 1 (11–25%), 2 (26–50%), 3 (51–75%), 4 (76–90%) and 5 (>90%).
