After a preparative IVTT reaction in the presence of rRBCM and SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the desired band was excised from the gel and processed as described in Materials and Methods. Current traces were recorded in 1 M KCl, 5 mM HEPES (pH 7.4). The scale for the current trace in (D), applies to the entire figure. The histograms of the current steps represent compilations from at least 15 independent recordings. Conductance values, rectification properties, and ion selectivities are summarized in Table 1.
