RPA binding to p53 is modulated by UV radiation in a NER-dependent manner. Normal human primary fibroblasts (WI38) and mutant cells with defects in various aspects of NER were irradiated at 50 J/m². Lysates were prepared 4 hr after irradiation and tested for binding of RPA to the GST–p53 beads. RPA in the input lysates (Upper) and in the bound fractions (Lower) was detected by immunoblotting using anti-RPA-70 and anti-RPA-34 monoclonal antibodies.
