Single-cell suspensions of thyroid glands were prepared and stimulated with 0·1 mM sodium iodide (NaI). Cells were assessed by flow cytometry after 24 and 48 h after iodine treatment and were compared with the no NaI group. Significantly enhanced ICAM-1 expression was noted after 24 h of iodine stimulation.
