Transcript amounts of PR2 (pathogenesis related2), similarly to PDF1.2, are induced by MeJA treatment. Transcript levels accumulate also after contact with Salmonella, pointing to a central role of the JA pathway in response to this bacterium. Moreover, the induction follows the kinetics of induction caused by the plant specialized pathogen P. syringae. Q-RT-PCR was performed as described above.
