Real-time qPCR analyses of genes related to adaptive immunity from spleen at all stages. Selected genes were; heavy chains of immunoglobulin zeta (IgZ) and immunoglobulin mju (IgM), T cell coreceptors CD4 (CD4) and CD8alpha (CD8a), T_H2 cytokine transforming growth factor beta (TGFb), T_H1 cytokine interferon gamma (IFNg). Data are mean relative expression ratios ± SE of 6 infected individuals relative to 6 controls (C) per stage, normalized against 18S rRNA levels and adjusted for PCR efficiency. IFN-γ expression is shown with own Y-axis for easier comparison between genes. Bars with different letters are significantly different (p < 0.05).
