The cytoplasmic region of the murine wild-type (WT) EPOR is diagrammed on the left, showing the position of the JAK2 binding domain (cross-hatched bar) and the regions surrounding the tyrosine residues required for STAT5 binding and activation (Tyr-343 and Tyr-401). ER343-S3 has the sequence GYMPQ (STAT3 binding site) substituted for residues 342–346 of the WT murine EPOR.
