A 595-base fragment from the 5′ end of the Luc gene was ligated into the multiple cloning site behind the second subgenomic promoter in antisense orientation. (B) The three predicted species of viral RNA transcripts expressed in mosquito cells. Viral nonstructural proteins are translated directly from genomic RNA. Structural protein mRNA is transcribed from the negative-sense strand at the subgenomic promoter; the heterolous antisense LUC segment also is transcribed.
