“Impact circle” overview of genomics and molecular research in rice. Research areas have been placed in either the inner or outer circle. Inner circle research activities are considered to provide more direct applied benefits (in terms of new markers, information for the development of new markers, or new breeding lines) to the rice molecular breeding lab/breeding program, which is located in the center. Research areas indicated in the outer circle are generally considered to provide indirect benefits to the rice molecular breeding lab/breeding program.
