The types and putative substrates of the nutrient transporters are as indicated in the figure and legend box. The figures were constructed using data from transportDB (http://www.membranetransport.org/). The transporters of O. tsutsugamushi were predicted using a BLASTP search against the transporter database. It is notable that there are more transporters for amino acids and nucleotides in Orientia and Rickettsia than in members of Anaplasmataceae. The downward direction of the arrows indicates flow into the bacteria.
