CD-1 nude mice without tumours were fed a 0 or 0.3% DMF diet for 7–10 days and then were treated with a single tail-vein injection of saline (control diet), 2.0 mg kg⁻¹ MMC (control diet and 0.3% DMF diet). After 7 days, three mice/group were anaesthetised and blood was obtained by cardiac puncture. The blood was allowed to clot and the serum was collected and analysed.
